About Avok Systems

We build the software Canada cannot afford to import.

Avok Systems is a Canadian defence-software company on a single mission: to give Canada and its allies a decision advantage they fully own and control.

Our story

Avok Systems was founded on a simple, uncomfortable realisation: Canada had come to depend on foreign software to run some of its most sensitive missions — and discovered, too late, that depending on someone else’s software means depending on someone else’s jurisdiction, someone else’s roadmap, and someone else’s rules.

That dependence is no longer acceptable, and it is no longer necessary. Canada is rebuilding its defence capability and has made a historic choice to build it at home, naming digital systems — secure cloud, artificial intelligence, and command-and-control — among the sovereign capabilities the country intends to own rather than import.

Avok exists to deliver one of those capabilities: sovereign decision intelligence. We take the flood of data that pours in from satellites, sensors, radios, ships, and systems, and we turn it into something a commander, an analyst, or an operator can actually use — fast, explainable, and mission-ready. We do it as software and services only. We do not build hardware, weapons, drones, vehicles, or sensors. We make everything Canada already has work better, together, and under Canadian control.

We are deliberately a software company because software is where sovereignty lives. Canadian ownership, auditable AI, air-gapped deployment, data that stays in Canada — these are properties of architecture and corporate control, and they are exactly what the country is now demanding. We were built to deliver them.

What we believe · Vision

A Canada that can decide faster than any threat.

A Canada that can see, understand, and decide faster than any threat to its sovereignty — using intelligence software that Canada owns and controls.

What we do · Mission

A sovereign, auditable decision-advantage platform.

To give the Canadian Armed Forces, Canada’s security and public-safety agencies, and trusted allies a sovereign, auditable, AI-powered decision-advantage platform — fusing every source of data into clear, explainable, mission-ready insight, deployable from the cloud to the Arctic edge, without surrendering control of Canadian data to any foreign jurisdiction.

Leadership

Cleared, credible, and close to the mission.

Avok is built and led by people who have served, who hold the trust and the clearances that defence work demands, and who have built advanced software at scale. Our founding team pairs operational credibility — leaders drawn from the Canadian Armed Forces and Canada’s security and intelligence community — with deep engineering in artificial intelligence, data fusion, and secure systems.

We hire the way the best defence-software companies hire: cleared and credible at the top, forward-deployed in the field, and disciplined about staying small and senior. Our Mission Engineers embed directly with the operators who use our software, because the only software worth building for defence is software proven against real data, in real conditions, with the people whose decisions depend on it.

Named biographies will be added as leadership is confirmed. Until then, this narrative establishes credibility without overstating specifics.

Our principles

Four rules that govern every decision we make.

Mission before features.

We measure ourselves by the decisions we improve, not the functions we ship.

Sovereignty is non-negotiable.

If a design choice would compromise Canadian control of Canadian data, we don’t make it.

Earn trust, then keep it.

Cleared people, auditable systems, signed and reproducible software, and security treated as a first-class product — not an afterthought.

Humans decide.

Our software is decision support. People — accountable, trained, and in the loop — make the decisions.

Build the sovereign advantage with us.

Whether you procure capability, build programs, or want to join the team — the mission starts with a conversation.
