Overview
Fusion is the heart of Avok. As an Information & Sensor Fusion Engineer you’ll build the algorithms and software that combine many sources of data — satellite radar, vessel tracking, radio-frequency, and electro-optical — into a single, coherent, explainable picture: detecting the anomaly, correlating the track, and flagging what matters, with outputs an analyst can trust and brief.
What you’ll do
- Design and implement multi-source data-fusion, tracking, and correlation algorithms.
- Build detection, anomaly, and pattern-of-life analytics across heterogeneous sensors.
- Make outputs explainable and traceable — no black boxes.
- Productionize models and algorithms into the Avok platform at scale.
- Work closely with geospatial, platform, and ML engineers — and with operators.
What we’re looking for
- Strong software engineering plus applied experience in sensor/data fusion, estimation, tracking, or signal/ML processing.
- Comfort with probability and estimation (e.g., Kalman / particle filtering) and/or modern ML.
- Python / C++ / Rust and a track record of shipping algorithms into production.
- Eligible for Canadian Government security clearance.
Nice to have
- Experience with SAR / AIS / RF / EO data or ISR / EW domains.
- Background in defence, intelligence, or maritime/air domain awareness.
Why Avok
You’ll work on mission-driven technology that helps Canada see, understand, and decide — alongside a small, senior team, on problems that matter. This is an on-site role in Toronto. Many roles require eligibility for Canadian Government security clearance and compliance with the Controlled Goods Program.
